With the Lions losing James Stewart for the year with a shoulder injury, it wouldnt be such a bad thing if the Lions had Cason on their roster.

"The Cowboys are certainly happy hes on theirs."','9/12/2003','12:15:00 AM','Friday'4706,2003,66 5640,2,2,'Johnson Looking For Payback?','In an article published Thursday, SportsLine.com senior writer Pete Prisco suggested that Doug Johnson may have said the right things when talking about facing his old college coach this week, but you can bet hes biting his tongue some, too.

Johnson does not like Redskins head coach Steve Spurrier, who coached him at Florida. He does respect Spurrier as a passing coach, and gives him credit for refining his game.

But personally, he wants no part of him.

In an interview this summer, Johnson said he felt that Spurrier blackballed him after his college career was over, helping to keep him out of the Senior Bowl. Johnson was not drafted, signed as a free agent with the Falcons and has been a backup in his four seasons. When Mike Vick went down, he was given the chance to play.

Which also means a opportunity to stick it to Ballcoach.

And just maybe he can embarrass Spurrier the way the coach tried to embarrass him when he was in college. On his way to breaking the single-game passing mark against Vanderbilt, Johnson was pulled by Spurrier, who said he didnt deserve to have the record.

A couple of days after the game, Spurrier gave Johnson a football commemorating his having the second-highest single-game passing yardage in school history.

Johnson threw the football into the stands at Florida Field.

"There was no way I was keeping that," he said. "Do you believe he had the nerve to do that?"

So forget that talk that Johnson wont be extra hyped to play his college coach. As Prisco put it: "If he can rub it in, he will. Paybacks are hell."

Also of interest....

According to the Sports XChange, Peerless Price grumbled some after the Cowboys game about not being moved
