him as questionable."

Chapman, who suffered a high ankle sprain suffered in the third preseason game against Oakland, opened the week listed as probable after playing through the same injury in last weeks opener.

Tice went on to say: "We thought we would be better served with two things, one, giving [Onterrio] Smith all the work that Chapman usually gets and two, giving Chapman a rest so hed be better served. We do have him in some special team stuff. He took a little step backwards.

As reported by Pro Football Weekly, coaches are doing everything possible to make Daunte Culpepper more comfortable this season.

Plays had been sent in from offensive coordinator Scott Linehan to Tice, who relayed them to Culpepper from his headset to Culpeppers helmet. Tice has been eliminated from the process this season.

Linehan will call plays in to No. 2 quarterback Gus Frerotte, who then sends them to Culpepper.

In addition to freeing up Tice to concentrate on other things, the Vikings like the fact that the experienced Frerotte will be kept in the game and add last-second reminders such as look off the safety on pass plays.

According to the Sports XChange, Culpepper made at least three excellent decisions to throw the ball away against the Packers. After one, he went to the sideline and told the defense, "Ill be back. Go stop them."

And for what its worth. ... Culpepper completed 22-of-29 passes for 216 yards and a touchdown as the Vikings beat Chicago in the last meeting, 25-7 at the Metrodome last Oct. 27. Culpepper has a 61.7 completion percentage and 83.6 quarterback rating in six games against the Bears.','9/11/2003','9:25:00 PM','Thursday'9172,2003,65 5639,11,2,'Hakim Returns To Practice...','According
