the wide receivers have been invisible and the running backs have gained just 65 yards on 21 carries.

"I have a lot of confidence in this offense," head coach Andy Reid said. "We have a lot of very good players in this offense and its just a matter of getting it rolling. Once we get it rolling, well be fine.

"I think its important that we get something going early. We need to have something positive happen, and its my responsibility to put the players in the right spots to make plays."

Reids play-calling in the first two games was very curious. With his defense ravaged by injuries, he knows he needs to control the football and keep them off the field. Yet, despite the fact that both games were close well into the second half, his three running backs -- Duce Staley, Correll Buckhalter and Brian Westbrook -- carried the ball a total of 21 times in those two games.

Buckhalter, expected to be the clubs primary ball carrier this season after making a successful recovery from a torn ACL, has just one carry in two games.

Even if they run the ball more against the Bills, they still need McNabb to snap out of his horrendous funk -- something Reid fully expects him to do.

"Donovan has a great outlook on things, which is very important because you understand youre going to take the brunt of the load if things arent working well," the coach explained. "On the other hand, when things are working well, you get all of the praise. That works both ways. Thats the nature of the position. In truth, everybody has a piece of this thing and everybody has the responsibility of doing their job and doing it well.

"Once those things happen -- first me putting guys in better position to make plays and then the players performing their responsibilities well, then well be OK. Well be fine. Its going to happen. I have every confidence that well get this thing going."

Lets hope so.','9/28/2003','1:35:00 AM','Sunday'0,2003,204 5776,2,4,'Under Utilized Duckett Off To A Very Slow Start...','According to those who follow
