After watching his top wide receiver make it through a non-contact practice Friday, head coach Mike Sherman said he was considering giving Driver the green light to play against the Cardinals.

Unfortunately for Fantasy owners, the Packers and Cardinals wont hit the field until later this afternoon, meaning those who chisel Drivers name into stone as a starter this morning are taking a major risk.

And if you ask me, relying on a guy two weeks removed from the horrifying fall that left him with a sprained neck and concussion is a fairly risky proposition even if hes a lock to start.

But for those of you still considering such a move, reports from Fridays practice -- which was closed to the media -- were encouraging.

"I would not be surprised, just knowing him," Brett Favre said of the possibility Driver playing.

Backup quarterback Craig Nall likened Drivers hasty recovery to that of Pittsburgh quarterback Tommy Maddox last year.

Like Driver, Maddox lay on the field for several minutes after suffering what was diagnosed as a cerebral and spinal concussion upon being tackled in a game at Tennessee. He was taken from the field in an ambulance and spent a night in the hospital. He returned to game action at quarterback three weeks later.

Driver was removed from the field on a stretcher and spent two nights at Bellin Hospital. It was initially believed he would have to miss at least a couple games.

Driver, though, was cleared for individual drills at practice Wednesday.
