Tweak RB Rotation With Davis Hurting...','According to Houston Chronicle beat man Carlton Thompson, rookie halfback Domanick Davis did not practice Friday because of a groin injury, leaving his status for todays home opener against Kansas City is uncertain.

"Thats a question right now," head coach Dom Capers said. "He slightly pulled his groin. That will be one of those game-time decisions. It just depends on how much progress he makes."

Davis, whom the Texans have used as a third-down back and on kickoff returns, has rushed for 59 yards on 12 carries in two games. The coaches are more comfortable with Mack or Wells on third downs because they are more reliable when picking up blitzes than Hollings, who was a supplemental draftee and missed the offseason program.

"Tony is still learning," Capers said. "Thats why we havent put him in the first couple weeks, but hes making progress. We worked him quite a bit this week."
