have a feel for the game. I feel more comfortable. The more reps you get, the better you become."

Also of interest....

In a rather startling development, Cleveland cornerback Daylon McCutcheon said the Browns are capable of covering Owens one-on-one, a contrast in philosophy to the series of double teams the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Rams sent Owens way over the first two games.

"I think you can cover him man," McCutcheon said in Fridays editions of the Akron Beacon Journal. "I think sometimes you can catch him off guard when you play man just because he is not used to it. I think hes not used to guys getting up there and getting physical."

Or, as safety Earl Little told the paper: "Were not worried."

In case youre wondering.... That would be the same Earl Little who warned that Jamal Lewis would have "his work cut out for him" in Baltimore last week....

And finally....

As reported by Sacramento Bee staff writer Matthew Barrows, while the rest of the team was practicing at team headquarters Friday, Owen Pochman was in Candlestick Park for the first time to test his left leg against the stadiums legendary swirling winds.

There was just one problem: It was a mild and sunny day.

"I hoped it would be windy, but it was really beautiful," said the kicker, who was signed Tuesday.

If Pochman kicks a field goal today, it not only would be his first at Candlestick, it would be his first in the NFL.

Though he spent the 2001 season with the New York Giants, Pochman was used primarily as a kickoff specialist. He was brought in only on long field-goal attempts, missing tries from 63 and 55 yards.

In fact, Pochmans next PAT attempt will be the first regular season attempt of his career.','9/20/2003','1:05:00 AM','Sunday'5267,2003,148 5721,32,3,'Texans Likely To
