This after the star halfback returned to the practice field Thursday -- even though he wasnt necessarily supposed to.
"Medically the report says, limited to no reps at all (Thursday)," head coach Dick Vermeil admitted Friday. "No one said anything to him and he just went to work."

Asked if he found the amount of attention focused on and speculation surrounding Holmes amazing, Vermeil said it comes with the territory.
"Whenever you reach the status as a player that he does you draw and attract more attention because the national media gets involved and it almost seems like they compete," the coach explained.
And when interviewer Bob Gretz, of KCFX-FM, noted that Holmes has been in on an average of 15 to 17 fewer plays over these first two games than he was last year, Vermeil indicated that was no accident.
"Al Saunders, our offensive coordinator, and James Saxon, our running backs coach, have done a good job of that right now," Vermeil said. "Were doing it purposely and he may very well end up touching the ball as many times, but he wont be incidental in plays."
