Shanahan came under league scrutiny after telling CBS at halftime of Sundays game that Plummers injury was a concussion, not his shoulder. Shanahan said he did it to keep the Chargers from gaining an advantage if Beuerlein got hurt.

Shanahan came clean after the game, but NFL officials are looking into whether he violated any rules. He said he doesnt expect any action.

"Ive been preparing for it -- Ive heard its been quite a stir," he said. "But I havent had any calls. I dont know why I would."

Walking out of his news conference, Shanahan quipped: "Ive got to go. My head hurts."

"Clinton got a few reps in," Shanahan said. "Hes still a little bit sore, but he told me he should be ready for Monday night."

Shanahan noted that Portis felt a little more pain Tuesday than he did Monday.

"He came in Monday and told me he felt fine and then came in Tuesday and said that he didnt feel as good as he had the day before," Shanahan said. "But for a guy to practice on Wednesday and go through the walk-through like he did, I cant see him being set back."
