team and a good organization that gives you a chance to win, week-in-and-week-out; a lot of the younger guys dont appreciate that yet. Im at a point in my career where just being able to help the team out in any way that I can means a lot to me.

"Just having the opportunity, just knowing there are one or two plays where you have a chance to make a huge play and alter the course of the game means a lot to me. I didnt have that up in Buffalo last year. That makes it exciting."

"We played against him a lot," said head coach Bill Cowher. "I just remember the times we played against him we had match-up problems. If you try to put a linebacker on him he can run away from him and if you put a defensive back on him he is taller than them. He was a guy that was available that you know from playing against him gave you match up problems.

"If you look at this offense and what he can do in it he seemed like a natural fit. He has come in picked it up and has done a good job with the opportunities he has had. It has been a position where we have been hard pressed to finish with one guy and now we have a lot of different options."

In the past the tight end has not been a big part of the passing game, but he is quickly changing that.

"He adds a dimension that we havent had," said Cowher. "He gives you a guy that youd better start thinking about down the middle of the field. Jay, I just think has been big."

The passing game was already loaded with Hines Ward, Plaxico Burress and Antwaan Randle El, but the addition of Riemersma gives defenses something else to think about and its not pleasant for them.

"I think thats going to help all of us," he said of the multiple weapons. "You certainly have to have an offensive line like we do thats capable of pass protection. Having a guy like Tommy [Maddox] that can pull the trigger and hit any one of us really makes us that much harder to defend."

While Riemersma is feeling comfortable with the offense, he still doesnt have it all
