them play out there without me, but Ive got to be patient. If I get back out there too soon, I could hurt it again and be out another six to eight weeks."

And finally. ...

Gary Anderson made his first appearance in team drills Wednesday after the Titans formally moved Joe Nedney, who suffered a season-ending knee injury against the Raiders, to injured reserve.

Nedney is left-footed and Anderson right-footed, so punter Craig Hentrich, the holder for place-kicks, will have to make a slight adjustment.

"As soon as they show me how they like the ball held, it is not that big of a change for me," Hentrich said.

The 44-year-old Anderson, who has rarely kicked much in the offseason during his 21-year career, said he kept in shape since last season by running and playing soccer.

He took eight kicks in a field-goal drill and made five. He missed once at 44 yards and twice at 47. He made a 47-yarder to finish the period.

"I would have liked to have had the benefit of a training camp and at least a few preseason games. ... But I feel good," Anderson said. "Same with our tight ends," Mariucci said, referring to Mikhael Ricks, Matt Murphy and rookie Casey Fitzsimmons.
