point in the week? How come the Patriots are so tight-lipped when it comes to this kind of stuff?
Well, in an excellent article published Wednesday, Boston Herald beat man Michael Felger -- noting that "it irritates the media, frustrates fantasy players" -- conceded the iron-fisted manner in which Bill Belichick disseminates injury and lineup information certainly hasn''t won him any popularity contests.
But does it win him football games?"
And according to Felger, who almost certainly understands the situation as well as anybody, that''s the only question that really matters. Jeff feels it''s important to get the information out -- so we get it out."
Well.... Kind of.
As forthcoming as he might be during press conferences, I''ll remind you that Fisher -- co-chairman of the NFL''s all-powerful Competition Committee -- has only listed one player as probable in the last four years. Otherwise, he''s rather conveniently listed everybody else as either questionable or out.
But Reese''s comment
