I really believe most teams play within the rules."','10/31/2003','3:55:00 PM','Friday',462 6032,16,9,'Agent Says Fiedler Might Be Out "For A While..."','According to Miami Herald staffers Jason Cole and Armando Salguero, the agent for quarterback Jay Fiedler indicated Thursday that Fiedler could be out longer than expected, keeping Brian Griese as the Dolphins'' starter for the next two or three games.

Agent Brian Levy also said folks should temper their enthusiasm for Griese, who led the Dolphins to victory over San Diego on Monday night. Griese will start Sunday against Indianapolis.

"Let''s not call him the greatest thing to happen to the quarterback position," Levy said. "Let''s see what happens over the next two or three games. I am not saying that Brian is not a good quarterback.

"If he goes out and plays great, plays like he did against San Diego in the next two or three games, there is no decision. He should be the quarterback. But let''s see if that happens."

Levy also said Fiedler could be out "for a while" and might not be ready for the game at Tennessee on Nov. 9 because of a sprained knee.

Griese completed 20 of 29 passes for 192 yards and three touchdowns. That included 13 of 14 in the first half for 145 yards and all three touchdown passes.

Fiedler, listed as questionable with a sprained medial collateral ligament, practiced Thursday. He was the No. 3 quarterback on Monday against San Diego, and his status for Sunday against Indianapolis will be determined on game day.
