Canales said having Chrebet in the lineup would make the Jets better offensively.

"It''ll be a different game plan with him in there," Canales said. "So now, you''ve got three good weapons with [Chrebet, Moss and Conway]. When you have him in, there''s a lot of things he can do very well, and you try to capitalize on that, and highlight those talents."

Bennett practiced this week for the first time since fracturing his foot during the offseason.

"There''s a better chance of him playing next week than I thought there was on Wednesday," the coach admitted. "He looks pretty good out there."

Tice said he envisions giving Bennett two or three carries against the Packers. Tice claims his long-term goal is to have Bennett ready to start against Seattle on Dec. 7 at the Metrodome.
