Muhammad has also had his share of dropped passes this season.
Asked by reporters Thursday to assess Muhammad''s performance to date, Fox replied: "Moose has done fine. He has blocked very well. He comes to play. Numbers and catches, I don''t stay on top of the exact stats, but I think he has been a reason why we are 5-1."
And asked how the former Michigan State star has adjusted to the Panthers running offense from the West Coast offense, Fox had no complaints.
"From the day I got here, Moose has done everything I have ever asked of him," the coach explained. "That is all a coach can ask for. I respect his game and respect what he brings to the table when he is out there on Sunday. Sometimes it involves catching passes and sometimes it involves blocking. Every position has multiple tasks, and there is more than just catching the ball to playing wide out. ..."

Following up on an item in this week''s Team Notes, receiver Kevin Dyson said he plans to return to practice next Wednesday (Oct. 29).
Dyson, who is on the team''s PUP list, has until Nov. 3 to begin practicing with the team. At that point, the Panthers will have three weeks to determine whether or not to activate him to the 53-man roster of place him on IR.
"I feel like a little kid where somebody has told him he can''t go outside and play -- and now I''m allowed outside," Dyson said. "I''m excited to try to contribute."
If Dyson can return to full speed he would give the Panthers another deep threat option along with Smith and help keep defenses honest.
