Steve McNair, who leads the NFL with 1,791 yards passing and is the AFC''s top-rated passer, returned to practice Wednesday, one day after a judge ruled enough evidence existed for a grand jury to consider the charges from his May 22 arrest.

"As long as I set my priorities straight, what happens off the football field stays off it, and once I come to practice and come to work, no problem," McNair said.

"It''s been going on since it happened, and I haven''t let it happen so far. I think I''m doing a good job of handling it."

The grand jury could convene in four to five weeks, according to the district attorney''s office. If convicted, McNair could also face punishment from the NFL.

"What happens, happens. Right now, I''m worried about Jacksonville. That''s the best thing I can do right now -- concentrate on what I''ve got to do to help this ball club," McNair said. ...

With Eddie George, who hasn''t averaged 4 yards per carry since 1999, currently averaging 2.8 yards per carry, an unnamed AFC general manager told Pro Football Weekly: "The legs look old. He lacks quickness. In 99, he went through the same thing and bounced back -- clearly. Id be surprised if he comes back from this one. The guy looks like hes just about finished."

The same executive then suggested what he would do if running the Titans offense.

"I think you give Chris Brown more carries. I think you give Robert Holcombe more carries. But you do what they did (in Week 6). You go three wides and open it up and let [McNair] throw the ball -- you pass first, run second."
