according to PFW, Tice has asked the NFL to look closely at the number of non-calls involving Randy Moss.

Although the star wideout had his first 100-catch season in 2002, heading into Week 7, he had been the recipient of a defensive pass-interference call only once in his last 21 games.

Conversely, Moss had been flagged seven times for offensive interference.

Against Atlanta in Week 5, Moss was all but tackled on a fade route thrown by Gus Frerotte, who pleaded with the official on the spot to toss a flag. The result? Another no-call. Moss, who admits he does what he must to get open and create separation, rarely seeks contact from defensive backs but has been known to use slight push-offs at the last second, a la Michael Irvin, to come free.

Still, Moss is convinced that there is anti-Randy sentiment from NFL officials. Heading into last weeks action, he led the NFL with three offensive pass-interference fouls in five games.

According to STATS Inc., Jimmy Smith, Ike Hilliard, Plaxico Burress, Ashley Lelie, Andre Johnson and Peerless Price each had benefited from three defensive pass-interference calls entering Week 7.

In 2001, defenders were called for pass interference defending Moss seven times.

"They see it, but they just dont call it," Moss said. "I guess if Im Randy Moss, Super Freak, with all this talent, then I should be able to make it happen no matter what...."

And one last item here....

According to St. Paul Pioneer Press beat man Bill Williamson, place-kicker Hayden Epstein is making progress from a knee injury that forced the Vikings to give him an injury settlement in August. The team is watching his progress and have an interest in re-signing him.
