beat man Leo Roth wrote this morning that Moulds "is likely to miss his second straight game today."
Roth added that Travis Henry''s ribs are still sore, but Henry practiced all week and will start and play as usual.','10/19/2003','8:05:00 AM','Sunday',372 5943,18,7,'Smith Inactive; Faulk To Play Extensively Behind Improving Line...','In an article published early this morning, Boston Herald staffer Kevin Mannix asked readers to guess which team playing at Pro Player Stadium today has been doing the better job run blocking the past couple of weeks?
Well, according to Mannix, it isn''t the Dolphins, who have one of the league''s best running backs in Pro Bowler Ricky Williams. The Miami star is averaging only 3.4 yards a carry this season and has been held to a 2.7-yard average in the last two games: victories over the Giants and Jaguars.
Conversely in the last two weeks, the Patriots backs have been getting the best run blocking in recent memory. Two weeks ago, Antowain Smith averaged 5.0 yards on 16 carries against the Titans before being sidelined with a shoulder injury. In came newcomer Mike Cloud, who contributed 73 yards on seven rushing attempts (a 10.4-yard average) and two touchdowns.
Kevin Faulk''s hamstring injury healed enough for him to be the featured back for most of last week''s victory over the Giants. He finished with 87 yards on 14 carries -- a 6.2-yard average.
When you''ve got three backs who get that many yards a shot, the offensive line is doing its job. Ironically, the line has had a couple of pass protection problems this season, and that''s usually its strength.
Mannix added that Faulk will get extensive playing time today.
Smith, who missed the last six quarters with that shoulder injury, practiced all week but according to ESPN analyst Hank Goldberg, was still declared inactive for today''s game.
Also of interest. ...
