According to Pro Football Weekly, Daunte Culpepper was ready to play in Week 5 at Atlanta, but he would not have been able to use his scrambling ability. Throwing the ball has not been a problem for Culpepper since he suffered the back injury Sept. 21 at Detroit.

But Culpepper lacked the lateral mobility to escape pressure and pick up yardage by foot until last Thursday, when he practiced pain-free for the first time.
