(swollen left leg), the Bears hope that Peterson can keep a running game that ranks ninth in the NFL operating efficiently. The 2002 sixth-round draft pick from Georgia Southern has rushed for 15 yards on six carries so far this season.

"I''m really anxious for him to have an opportunity to have an entire game to carry the load and I think that he is as well," said offensive coordinator John Shoop.

"Hopefully it will present more balls coming my way," Terrell said. "With that said, I''ve got to get it and do something with it, which I am going to do. I''ve been waiting a long time. If I get a chance to do something, I''m going to be ready."

The door of opportunity could also swing open for rookie receivers Bobby Wade and Justin Gage. Jauron said that one or both of the fifth-round picks could be active Sunday if Booker were unable to play. Wade has not stepped on the field since fumbling away a punt in the opener and Gage has not suited up all season.
