injury during training camp that sidelined him most of the preseason. He has been listed as inactive for two of the Texans'' five games this season. His four rushing attempts came during the Sept. 21 game against Kansas City.

"I''m a young guy, it''s only my second year, I''m going to get my chance to be a starter in this league. As for right now, I have to be patient and wait and get what I can get. I think the Texans know my talent. I think when I''m 100 percent I can play with any backs here or any backs in the league. I''m just looking for my chance to get back out there."

Also according to the XChange, Corey Bradford has been forced to make adjustments to his new role in the Texans passing offense.

After being the focal point last season, Bradford finds himself among a group of targets for second-year quarterback David Carr.

Bradford had his best game of the season last week with five receptions for 127 yards, including a 65-yard touchdown, against Tennessee. Despite the arrival of first-round draft selection Andre Johnson and the emergence of second-year receiver Jabar Gaffney, the Texans insist Bradford and his big-play ability remain a vital part of an improved Texans passing offense that ranks sixth in the NFL at 250.8 yards per game.

"We know what he''s capable of," receivers coach Kippy Brown said. "We go into the game with a plan designed to get him the ball."

Bradford is among the league''s most dangerous at breaking a long reception. Through five games, Bradford leads the league among receivers (with at least 10 receptions) with an average of 22.6 yards per catch. Seven of his 12 receptions have covered at least 20 yards, and 143 of his 271 yards have come on two touchdowns.

Last season Bradford got off to a hot start with 18 receptions for 352 yards and three TDs through five games. But the Texans'' offense became predictable, and defenses began to put double coverage on Bradford. A sprained left foot also slowed him.
