Vermeil explained it: "Boerigter didnt practice today, so hell be put on the questionable list. A big toe problem that I guess has been bothering him. All of a sudden it got so bad that he couldnt even practice and hes the kind of kid if he could practice hed practice. But he couldnt go at all. Thats a major concern."

Boerigter was a veritable touchdown machine last year with 8 TDs on his mere 20 receptions in his first NFL season.

Other notes of interest....

As noted by the Sports XChange, the Chiefs not only boast the league''s top scoring average with 31.8 points per game, but Priest Holmes has eight rushing TDs this year -- more than 31 NFL offenses have totaled as units this year. Only Green Bay has more with 10....

Holmes is listed as probable with a sore shoulder this week, but the injury isn''t expected to be an issue Monday night....

Tony Gonzalez needs just three catches to run his career total to 417 and pass receiver Henry Marshall as the Chiefs career leading receiver. Only five tight ends in NFL history -- Ozzie Newsome (with 662 catches), Shannon Sharpe (635), Kellen Winslow (541), Jackie Smith (480) and Mike Ditka (427) have more catches than Gonzalez.

Johnnie Morton''s production has picked up appreciably in the past three weeks as he''s totaled 263 yards from scrimmage on only 14 touches over his past three games. Morton, who caught only 29 passes and scored 1 TD in his first disappointing season with the Chiefs, has 12 catches for 200 yards and two runs for 63 more in his last three outings during which he''s scored twice. He had his first 100-yard day as a Chief against Denver.

And finally....

The Chiefs waived wide receiver Sylvester Morris, a former first-round draft choice, after reaching an injury settlement. Morris was the 21st pick of the 2000 NFL Draft. Morris has been on injured reserve this season after sustaining a hip injury
