Reid, however, said it wouldn''t be Westbrook''s work in the offense that will be cut down, but instead his work as the primary return man.

Which lends further credence to something I reported in a previous Update: Westbrook is well on his way to becoming team''s weapon of choice at halfback.

"I think that each week he feels a little more comfortable in the offense," Reid said. "It''s important that you don''t do too much with him. He''s got to make it through the year. We''ve got to keep an eye on him."

Then when asked if it meant more offense and less returns, Reid agreed.

"There''s a chance of that. We just have to see."

Through four games, Westbrook leads the team with 30 carries for 194 yards. He''s also caught six passes for 27 yards, has nine punt returns for an average of 8.9 yards and 14 kickoff returns
