What is Fantasy Football

In its simplest form, the idea of fantasy sports is no different than any other game or contest that involves testing your knowledge against a group of friends. Fantasy sports was created over 20 years ago when a group of baseball fans took the bragging rights of — "I know more about the game than you do" — to a game level by creating rules and scoring systems to define what "best" was.

Fantasy football has become the most popular of all fantasy sports in recent years, mostly because it is one of the easier fantasy games to play. A group of friends — known as team "owners" — get together at the beginning of the football season and select a roster of NFL players with the idea of putting together the team that puts up the best statistics each week. Fantasy football contests can be found in many places on the web. They range from contests and leagues that are a total waste of time to some of the most challenging you can find.

Head coach Andy Reid, however, said the jury is still out on Westbrook.

"Well just see here in the next couple of days how he is," Reid said of second-year halfback following Saturdays practice. "Were surely not going to put him at risk of re-hurting [his ankle]. Ive got to see how he did today. It was the first time that hes really gone hard.

"He looked pretty good and said it felt pretty good at the end of practice. But, weve got to see how he does later this evening and tomorrow."

Though officially listed as "doubtful" on the teams injury report, Westbrook has been running on the side this week and then practiced Saturday for the first time since injuring the ankle in the Eagles win over the New York Jets two weeks ago.

After practice, Westbrook said he felt good.

"Everything went good," said the running back. "I havent tested it all the way yet, so well see on Monday night how it goes."

Despite missing last weeks game, Westbrook is the Eagles leading rusher, with 323 yards on 58 carries. He also has four rushing touchdowns and is averaging 5.6 yards per carry.

In his absence, Correll Buckhalter has played well, rushing for 100 yards in the win over the Jets and 92 yards in last weeks win over the Falcons.

The Eagles would like to get Westbrook back because of the speed and quickness that he brings to the offense. Of the Eagles 19 plays of 20 yards or more this season,
