Also according to Maske, rookie receiver Taylor Jacobs said he has been told that he could be a bigger part of the offense this weekend after making his first NFL touchdown reception in Dallas. It was only his second catch of the season after having his progress hindered by a bruised pancreas suffered in the final preseason game.
"They tell me Im doing a great job in practice," Jacobs said. "The defensive backs I go up against give me a lot of compliments, so thats good to hear. If thats not encouraging you, I dont know what can. Its a long season. One of these times, theyre going to call my number, and I want to be ready."

In an article published Thursday, SportsLine.com insider Pete Prisco wrote: "The ol ball coach is a goner. Whether its a firing or he walks away, Steve Spurrier will not be back next season -- no matter how this team is trying to spin it."
The contention being, even though he was a terrific college coach, its a different game at the pro level and Spurrier hasnt made the necessary adjustment yet.
And as Prisco put it: "That can be a tough thing to do with Dan Snyder as your owner, but the players in Washington also have major questions about Spurriers abilities to be a head coach. This one is going to get comical, as in a sad, funny way, before the season is over."
