Ladell Betts is out with a fractured forearm. Chad Morton is listed as questionable and was able to run lightly on his sprained ankle during Fridays practice. But Redskins.com staff writer Gary Fitzgerald advised readers that Spurrier did not seem optimistic regarding his availability.
Which leaves Canidate and....
John Simon, who signed with the team on Tuesday, and backup fullback Rock Cartwright, who has lined up at halfback on occasion this year. Rookie Sultan McCullough is questionable with a fractured hand, but Spurrier expects him to be available as well.
"Trung was running around well," Spurrier said. "Probably John Simon [would be the backup]. Hes been here about a week and weve been coaching him up as hard as we can."

According to Washington Post staffer Mark Maske, the team is likely to be without center Larry Moore for tomorrows game.
But even if Moore is unable to play, Spurrier believes the team will do a better job of pass-protection this weekend after tweaking the blocking schemes during the week.
The Redskins have struggled to protect Patrick Ramsey and failed to do so during last Sundays loss at Dallas despite using some maximum-protection schemes. Maske suggests the next step could be some rollouts and "hot reads"
