The Browns activated fullback R.J. Bowers on Wednesday and placed tight end Chad Mustard on the practice squad.
Bowers had been on the non-football injury list with a knee injury. Bowers will play special teams and possibly participate in some blocking schemes on offense.','11/6/2003','3:15:00 AM','Thursday',496 6066,29,10,'Jurevicius Practices; Jamal Anderson In For Workout...','According to the teams official web site, Joe Jurevicius, the one player whose return the team has been anticipating for the longest period of time -- since his Week 2 injury against the Panthers -- practiced on Wednesday. His work was promising, but he is still considered questionable.
"He practiced," head coach Jon Gruden said. "He still looks a little bit inhibited in his movements but he made it through the day and hes questionable for the game."
To be cleared for the game, said Gruden, the emerging-star receiver needs to be fully uninhibited on the field.
"Hes got to be Joe Jurevicius," the coach explained. "Hes got to be a lightning rod, hes got to be a guy who explodes in and out of cuts and is moving fluidly. Hes a big guy and any lack of transition in and out of breaks are easy to spot in him. I thought he was a little bit tentative at times today, but it was a good start. He made it through a whole practice for the first time in a couple months. ..."
