6300,19,13,'Williams Putting It All Together...','In an article published in Saturdays Baton Rouge Advocate, Les East noted that a day like the one Boo Williams had against Philadelphia last Sunday was a long time in coming for a New Orleans Saints tight end.
As first reported in this weeks Team Notes, Williams, making his first start since starting tight end Ernie Conwell was lost for the season because of a broken ankle, had career-highs of nine receptions and 110 yards receiving and scored a touchdown.
Williams previous highs were four catches -- against Carolina in 2001 and Cleveland in 2002 and -- 69 yards against Carolina in 2001.
Williams became the first tight end to go over 100 receiving yards against the Eagles since the Jets Johnny Mitchell pulled in seven passes for 146 yards back in 1996 .

"He has really improved as a blocker the past couple of years," head coach Jim Haslett said. "Hes really into it as a blocker. Hes been doing a nice job since training camp.
"Consistency has been a question. Hes got good hands and hell drop a ball here and there. Hes really done a good job of maturing a lot the last two or three months. Thats carried over to the playing field."
Williams played wide receiver at Arkansas and signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2001. Since then he has established himself on special teams and bulked up 37 pounds to better fit the tight end role.
"When he first came here, he was a converted receiver and he had a number of things he needed to overcome," offensive coordinator Mike McCarthy said.
"The first thing was the size factor.
