"Its been a weakness for them, so people attack it," head coach John Fox said.
The Panthers would love to get Davis back on track after his difficult 26-carry, 59-yard performance at Dallas last week.
The veteran halfback is familiar with the Eagles, having played them twice a year when he was with Washington. Over the past four years, Davis totaled 534 yards on 132 carries in seven games against Philadelphia, with four touchdowns. He had just two 100-yard games against the Eagles, and the last time he played them, his season ended because of a dislocated right shoulder.
Thats why he wasnt too encouraged about what McAllister, Green and others have done this year.
"I cant really worry about what other guys have been doing," Davis said. "Its odd that some guys have been successful running against them. Knowing them and knowing the guys on that team, being familiar with the things they did in Washington, I know theyre going to come out ready to play.
"Theyre going to try to stop us from running the ball."
Generally speaking, its possible to run against Philadelphia because of its aggressive defensive style. Any time a team blitzes as much as the Eagles do, particularly linebackers, there are going to be running lanes.
But this year, theyve been worse at stopping the run than usual. Last year, the Eagles were ninth against the run, but theyve lost four defensive linemen for the season to injuries, affecting their ability to stack up the line of scrimmage.
The Panthers still average 142.2 rushing yards per game, fourth in the NFL.

No. 2 halfback DeShaun Foster, who missed last weeks game with a broken hand, practiced all week and expects to be available tomorrow.
Fox, however, maintains that Fosters status will be determined by a "Dreaded Game-Time Decision."
