Holcomb didnt get a starting opportunity until his seventh year in the NFL. While some think the clock is ticking on that chance, he doesnt feel its slipping away.
"I dont think about that, I really dont," he said. "Whatever happens, happens. Im going to go out there and do the best job I can do. Thats all I can do."
All that might matter is that head coach Butch Davis doesnt seem to be listening to the critics. Asked if his faith in Holcomb had wavered, Davis said simply, "Nope."

According to Pro Football Weekly, despite the legal and domestic problems William Green has endured in recent weeks, a Browns source says it is unlikely the team will release him after the season.
Team officials reportedly believe the 23-year-old Green is a genuinely good young man who has endured some terrible events in his life. For instance, Green lost both of his parents to AIDS by age 13.
However, while the Browns want to be patient with Green, PFW suggested they are unlikely to keep him past the 2004 season if he cannot get his life in order.
Should that happen, rookie Lee Suggs might become Clevelands back of the future.
In the meantime, James Jackson has run for 276 yards in his four starts in place of Green. Jackson is averaging 3.6 yards per carry in those games.

In a column published Thursday, SportsLine.com insider Pete Prisco noted that Cleveland has started nine different offensive linemen this season, which ties the Chargers for most in the league.
Their starting five was not considered to be one of the best anyway, so when they go deep into the bench, its going to cause even more problems. Center Jeff Faine, a rookie who has played well, is now out for the season.
