In fact, ESPN.com insider John Clayton, appearing live on ESPNews earlier this afternoon, told viewers that Shockey looked very doubtful; an anchor later said on ESPNs 15:00 PT SportsCenter that the second-year tight end was "out."
Shockey said he aggravated his injury with a strenuous pregame workout without his knee brace, which he now says was "stupid."
"He doesnt know half-speed," Fassel said Friday. "But its also an indication that maybe he wasnt ready and I did the right thing (in not playing him).
"If he can go (Sunday) and he feels fine, hell go. Well see how hes feeling on Sunday."
