Coach Jim Fassel listed Shockey as day-to-day Thursday after saying earlier in the week that he expected him back in the lineup for the first time since being hurt on Nov. 9.
Shockey left his knee brace off during his self-imposed workout before the game, so there was nothing to protect his sprained posterior cruciate ligament.
"I thought I could play last week and got the word I wasnt going to," Shockey said. "I went out there and did some stupid things that right now Im kind of regretting.
"If it was an injury where I didnt think I could do it, I wouldnt play. But I felt I could play. I felt it important for me to play because wed have had a chance if wed won it. Now, watching from the sidelines, and obviously losing it, its really made it hard on ourselves."

Steve McNair also knows what happens to stationary quarterbacks. He said if he cant move on Monday hes not going to play that night against the Jets.
"I am not going to go out there and be a sitting duck in the pocket," McNair said Wednesday. "If I am not able to move around. ... I am not going to do that.
"If I see myself not being able to do the things I need to do before Monday, there is always another week."
As noted in a previous Update, McNair didnt practice Wednesday as the Titans began preparations for the Jets. He said his injured right calf is still sore, but seems to be improving.
McNair strained the calf in the second quarter of last Sundays victory over the Falcons and spent most of Wednesday receiving treatment for the injury -- and some exercises such as toe raises.
