According to the Sports XChange, with Jurevicius -- and to a lesser degree, McCardell -- working at less than full speed, Gruden has done a lot with his personnel groupings to include some three running back packages. He likes to split running back Michael Pittman and Thomas Jones out as split ends. Then the next play, he might go with four wideouts and run the football.

As reported by Cummings and fellow Tribune staffer Katherine Smith, despite the numerous drive-killing penalties, Brad Johnson believes the offense has done some "great things" this season. Their red- zone numbers back up his claim.
Tampa Bay ranks sixth in the NFC inside the 20 with 25 trips resulting in 14 touchdowns and seven field goals. Johnson, who needs 237 passing yards for his third consecutive 3,000-yard season and fifth of his career, attributes the red-zone success to numerous factors.
"Its probably the system, great coaching and being careful with the ball - throwing the ball when it needs to be," Johnson said. "The biggest thing is just seeing throws."
Johnson is tied for the league lead with 20 touchdown passes.
