"Im going to be smart with him, Fassel said after Shockey practiced while wearing a lighter brace than the one he used Friday.
Fassel said that at times, Shockey did not appear to be cutting as crisply as usual, and at other times, he was nearly normal.
Shockey declined to speak to reporters.
"Hes incredible, Fassel said of Shockeys rebound from an injury initially expected to sideline him six to eight weeks.
"He wants to play so bad. Thats what you respect about him.
