He being invaluable quarterback Brett Favre, who Sherman said made it through a culminating 90-minute practice Friday before the Packers play at NFC North-leading Minnesota on ESPN tonight.
McMahon went on to note Favre will attempt to stem a dubious 2-9 record at the Metrodome with a broken right thumb. The 3-4 Packers, down three games to the 6-1 Vikings, face what amounts to a must-win situation to keep their division-title hopes alive.
"Obviously, youre always going to be concerned because of the thumb, but he seems very encouraged as do the doctors that hell be able to play with it," Sherman said.
Practice was closed to the media the entire week, so getting a read on how effective Favre was could only be derived from word-of-mouth. For the second straight day, Favre didnt make himself available to reporters.
After handling about 80 percent of the reps Thursday, Sherman indicated that Favre settled into a full-time routine for the first time since sustaining the injury
