"For him not to make the Pro Bowl would be a travesty," he said. "The guy does as much for our football team at his position as anybody could ever do."

Lacking deep-zone-splitting speed, Franks had been an effective short-to-intermediate receiver with his size and vastly improved hands. He has caught seven passes for 92 yards on bootlegs this year, dropping one.

"But we dont live or die off of the bootleg," Franks said. "The plays are just not there. Theyre not being called. You cant do nothing when youre running the ball. I wish and hope. Hey, its out of my control."

"Does he miss (blocks)?" Sherman said. "Yeah, occasionally he does. Will he miss the back-side cutoff sometimes? A lot of guys do. But for the most part you never seen him get overpowered against guys that are a lot bigger than him. You have to have a tight end here that can block."
