According to Pro Football Weekly, the team will be hurt by the loss of veteran receiver Wayne Chrebet (post-concussion syndrome) for multiple reasons.
First, it takes an offensive leader off the field, something the team can ill afford.
Second, Chrebet was the only player other than Moss who was making plays on offense, and the team is now left with Curtis Conway, Kevin Swayne, Jonathan Carter and the recently signed Kevin Lockett to fill his shoes.
None of these players garners the respect on the field that Chrebet did, and that could make things tough for Moss and Pennington.
As for Chrebet, the injury isnt believed to be serious enough to be career-threatening, but the team wanted to shut him down for the season because he just didnt feel right.','11/22/2003','5:35:00 PM','Saturday',649 6219,10,12,'McCaffrey Could Return To Action Tomorrow...','According to Rocky Mountain News staff writer Lynn DeBruin, citing strategic reasons, head coach Mike Shanahan wouldnt divulge whether Ed McCaffrey would play tomorrow.
But it is believed McCaffrey practiced all week after missing the past four games because of a quadriceps tendon injury.
"Were as healthy as weve been all year and feel good about it," Shanahan said.
McCaffrey remains listed as questionable while others are listed as probable. Unless your options are extremely limited, Id advise holding off at least a week in order to get a better idea of what kind of role the veteran will play. ...
