Morton was able to play in last weekends loss at Carolina, but he said his ankle hurt badly toward the end. "You just dont know how long those things are going to go on," head coach Dom Capers said Thursday. "We sent him down to see if anything showed up."
Well, that exam obviously revealed enough for Mack to miss his third straight game. Ill have more on the former Jaguars status in next weeks Team Notes. ...
In the meantime, the Texans have carried three running backs on the game day roster -- Domanick Davis, Tony Hollings and Jonathan Wells in Macks absence, with Davis obviously getting a majority of the carries.

Even if David Carr is ready to serve as the teams No. 3 quarterback tomorrow, the chances hed throw the ball probably lie somewhere between slim and none.
On Friday, Carr compared his velocity to what he threw "in junior high."
"By no means am I ready to go start throwing balls," Carr said. "It was good to get a ball in my hand and go through that motion. There is still some swelling causing me some pain."
Carr, who sprained the joint in his shoulder against Buffalo, said he hopes to return Nov. 30 against Atlanta.
