During the game against the Cowboys, the newly signed Hasselbeck had a grasp of only a portion of Washingtons playbook. Three weeks later, he said hes comfortable with every play in the book.
"We havent discussed a package for me versus a package for Patrick," Hasselbeck said. "So whatevers on that call sheet, Im going to be responsible for, and Im going to be prepared for Coach to call it. Im a lot more comfortable than I was, say, during Dallas week. Because Ive been here longer. Im a lot more comfortable. Hopefully, that translates into performing better."

According to Times staffer Jody Foldesy, Ramsey wasnt the only Redskin doing less than the team hoped in yesterdays practice. Another abbreviated effort left the Washington wondering whether it would be without its most effective rusher and backfield pass protector.
Rock Cartwright was "looking more and more doubtful" for tomorrows game, Spurrier said. Cartwright hoped to practice a decent amount yesterday on his sprained ankle, but he cut short his activity when pain accompanied the few instances he tried to cut.
"Its not where I thought it was going to be," Cartwright said. "Its still a little bit sore. Weve still got 48 hours to treat it, see where we can go with it. But right now Im still questionable."
Cartwright will be missed if he cant play.
Starting tailback Trung Canidate has averaged 2.1 yards a carry the past two games, and Cartwright has emerged as Washingtons most effective rusher at a 5.2-yard clip. Also, Cartwright is far more proficient at picking up blitzers.
That said, Canidate still got the start last week when both were healthy, and he now believes he is "feeling better" from the high ankle sprain that caused him to miss two games.
More likely to play than Cartwright, but by no means a lock is return man Chad Morton, who participated
