Mannings flawless play is making the spectacular seem routine.
At New Orleans, against the team his father played for, he produced his third perfect passer rating and threw for a club-record six touchdowns.
The next game, Manning led a record-setting rally for an overtime victory at Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay.
Last Sunday, Manning led the Colts past the New York Jets 38-31 by throwing for 401 yards despite playing without two of his favorite targets -- wide receiver Marvin Harrison and tight end Marcus Pollard.
Manning called that his proudest game of the season.
"Hes really utilizing the game plan and going to whoever has the mismatch," head coach Tony Dungy said. "Hes just relaxing."
Well.... You know what he means.
The truth is, Manning still spends 12-hour days at the Colts complex before escaping to his home theater, where he breaks down tape until midnight.
It was there that he designed the play to Walters, which became the game-winner at Miami, and drew up "Peytons Play," which turned into a touchdown to Harrison against New Orleans.
Manning knows this years success only has increased expectations.
"Some people are saying, Youre playing great, youre having a great year. But that can change in one week," Manning said.
"Im very aware that if this doesnt end the way we want it to, it will be very disappointing and theyll come after two people -- me and Coach Dungy. I just hope we can finish it...."

Although it appears Harrison is on track to return to the lineup this weekend, ESPN.com insider John Clayton is of the opinion the former Syracuse star will play a limited role at best.

According to War Room analyst Jason Langendorf, with Pollard sidelined and Harrison at less than full speed, Dallas Clark arguably is Mannings most versatile receiver right now.
