In its simplest form, the idea of fantasy sports is no different than any other game or contest that involves testing your knowledge against a group of friends. Fantasy sports was created over 20 years ago when a group of baseball fans took the bragging rights of — "I know more about the game than you do" — to a game level by creating rules and scoring systems to define what "best" was.

Fantasy football has become the most popular of all fantasy sports in recent years, mostly because it is one of the easier fantasy games to play. wanted to make room on the roster for free-agent linebacker Jamal Brooks. He played in 16 games for the Cowboys in 2001, then was on injured reserve last season with a broken leg.

Murrell gained 107 yards on 28 carries for the Cowboys this season, including 76 yards on 16 runs in a 10-6 victory over the Washington Redskins on Nov. 9.

He was out of the league for two years before joining Dallas on Oct. 29. Murrell has 5,199 career yards with 23 touchdowns and has played for the Jets, Cardinals and Redskins.

Murrells release is somewhat surprising given the fact starter Troy Hambrick was ineffective against the Patriots, rushing 13 times for 33 yards. His season average is just 3.3 yards per carry.

Murrell had given the run game a bit of a lift, rushing 28 times for 107 yards in three games (3.8 average).

Of course, even though hes not living up to expectations Hambrick is having a career year. His 187 carries for 618 yards are career highs for the four-year veteran. He needs 382 yards in the final six games to become the first Cowboy other than Emmitt Smith to top the 1,000 rushing yard mark since Hershel Walker....

According to the Sports XChange, Joey Galloway should be ready to play against the Panthers after sitting out last Sundays loss to the Patriots with a strained quad.

It was Galloways first missed game in more than two years, a span of 25 games. Parcells however doesnt view the injury as serious and think Galloway will be back in action Sunday.

Fullback Richie Anderson is on pace for career highs in yards and carries this season with 41 carries for 172 yards through 10 games. He had a season-high eight catches for 85 yards against the Patriots. Anderson is second on the team in receiving with 34 catches for 240 yards....

Quincy Carter has struggled of late with seven interceptions and four touchdown passes the four games. His best quarterback rating during that span is 66.7 against
