selected by the Saints with the 23rd pick of the first round in the 2001 NFL draft. Skeptics questioned his durability, intensity and ability to lead.
Since replacing Ricky Williams in the starting lineup in 2002, McAllister has silenced those critics. Last season he rushed for an NFC-best 1,388 yards and started in his first Pro Bowl.
This season he trails only Green Bays Ahman Green (1,063) and Carolinas Stephen Davis (992) for the NFC rushing lead. McAllister also has 33 receptions for 220 yards and ranks second in the NFC in total yards from scrimmage with 1,091.

McAllister is on pace to rush for 1,548 yards.

"Obviously you want to go out there and get 100 each week. Thats the benchmark for a running back, but the most important thing is the W."

"He can be
