Officially Downgraded; Wheatley To Start...','As expected, Charlie Garner was downgraded on Fridays updated injury report -- going from questionable to doubtful. The veteran halfback has yet to practice this week after badly bruising his tailbone on the first series of last weeks loss to the Jets.
Head coach Bill Callahan is quoted by the Sporting News as saying: "I dont think [Garner will] play. Hes starting to get better. It is starting to loosen up, just not to the point where he can practice."
Callahan went on to say that Tyrone Wheatley will get the start.
TSN advised readers to expect Wheatley to get a few more carries than rookie Justin Fargas, but not many. The bottom line is both should see significant action.

This despite the strained hamstring that has kept the veteran wideout from practicing fully the last two days.
As noted in a previous Update, McCardell was able to take part in walk-through portions of Fridays practice and head coach Jon Gruden expressed optimism about the former Jaguars ultimate status.

Bryant kicked all week in practice and head coach Jim Fassel said Friday that he has done well.
