The muscle soreness experienced in practice Thursday didnt mask his good fortune or stifle the high spirits of his teammates, who slapped a "Crash Test Dummy" decal on his helmet.
"Thats crazy," Jones said. "I mean, I go to work, try to do my best to support my family and Ive got to go through something like this. Ive got all kinds of psychological damage, and then theyre going to come and play pranks."
Jones and his wife, were returning from San Diego when a tractor-trailer overturned Tuesday night on Interstate 10 west of Phoenix. Their sport utility vehicle was rear-ended when Jones braked for the rollover.
Jones, who is second on the team with 35 catches, missed practice Wednesday while he and his wife had precautionary X-rays, which were negative. Jones expects to be ready for Sundays game in Cleveland.
"Hes just sore," head coach Dave McGinnis said. "It was a scary situation, but were just thankful that theyre OK."
Jones anger against the other driver vanished when he saw the man and his wife had serious injuries. His wife tried to comfort the other woman until a helicopter arrived to airlift them to a hospital.
