Getting back to Terrell....
Chicago Sun-Times staffer Brad Biggs pointed out this morning that Jauron has raved about Terrells work ethic all season and didnt buy into his notion that he is singled out.
"I would say its not necessarily true, Jauron said. "Maybe from Davids perspective it is, but we certainly coach everybody out on the field. I dont think you ever treat everybody the same except in the administration of the rules. Every personality is different on a football team, so you try to relate to them and you try to find out what will help them play the best.
Terrell, who is signed through 2005, maintains he is handcuffed in the slot, and his longstanding beef is that Dez White starts and he doesnt. The good news -- at least for Terrell -- lies in the fact that general manager Jerry Angelo unofficially bid farewell to White, set to be an unrestricted free agent, when he did not approach him about a contract extension at the beginning of the month. Angelo didnt draft Terrell, but he, too, has to wonder what his capabilities are.
When Terrell did get downfield last Sunday, he was open running a seam route, but Chandler threw to White, who made a 13-yard gain along the sideline with a double move. Terrell probably would have scored a 47-yard touchdown.
"Its frustrating to us as a staff, frustrating to him, receivers coach Todd Haley said. "Some of the reads just come out where its by side, and right now a lot of its chance as much as anything else in how the read comes out. Theres stuff drawn up where he is stretching the field vertically. Hes doing a great job. Hes being a pro, which is great. The guys attitude is awesome.
It will not stay that way forever, though. Both sides were so upset with each other during the summer that the Bears told Terrell he could seek a trade. That sent a message back
