What is Fantasy Football

In its simplest form, the idea of fantasy sports is no different than any other game or contest that involves testing your knowledge against a group of friends. Fantasy sports was created over 20 years ago when a group of baseball fans took the bragging rights of — "I know more about the game than you do" — to a game level by creating rules and scoring systems to define what "best" was.

Fantasy football has become the most popular of all fantasy sports in recent years, mostly because it is one of the easier fantasy games to play. A group of friends — known as team "owners" — get together at the beginning of the football season and select a roster of NFL players with the idea of putting together the team that puts up the best statistics each week. Fantasy football contests can be found in many places on the web. They range from contests and leagues that are a total waste of time to some of the most challenging you can find.

on, as long as Im doing what Im designed to do, Im OK."

His numbers do not back up Terrells big talk, but he would argue its because he works in an offense that doesnt give him the chance.

Haugh noted that a few lockers away, fellow receiver Marty Booker seemed to echo Terrells discontentment without making quite as much noise. Instead, Booker, whose longest catch of the season was a 48-yarder against Oakland that came after he caught a quick slant and ran the rest of the way, sounded like he was following a script as cautiously contrived as the Bears game plan.

"We just go out and run whats called and do what were supposed to," Booker said. "We have no input on the game plan or whatever. Im just out there to run whats called. If the balls coming to me, Im happy. I do what Im told."

At least the people telling Booker what to do have recognized the most pressing problem confronting the Bears. Whether they can solve it remains to be seen.

Jauron acknowledged the need to open up an offense that hasnt had more than two touchdown drives in any game this season and hasnt scored 30 points in a game since last years 33-30 loss to New England on Nov. 10. In contrast, the Rams have scored 30 or more points five times already this season.

Overall, the Bears are last in the league in total yards per game (258.1), 31st in passing yards per game (146.8) and 29th in points scored (16.7).

"We just havent connected," Jauron said. "It hasnt been rhythmic. In the two games we won, I felt like we were progressing, on rhythm."

As Haugh suggested: "Shoop gets blamed for practically everything but long lines at Soldier Field concession stands, and Jauron rarely steps forward to deflect the heat." But he did Wednesday.

Asked how much the offenses ineffectiveness had to do with plays Shoop called, Jauron made himself accountable.

"Its hard to put percentages on things, but Im certainly not saying in any way, shape or fashion that Im not responsible for it too," Jauron said. "We just have to perform better and we have to prepare them better."

On that,
