How much time does all this take?

The answer to this question depends in large part on just how competitive your league is and how much you want to "master" the game. But, generally speaking, you'll at least want to skim the NFL news once or twice per week to see if any of your players are injured, about to lose their job, etc. You will also need to go in and select a starting lineup once each week some time prior to kickoff of the first NFL game.

In the simplest leagues you can spend as little as 5-10 minutes per week on your team, while in highly competitive leagues you can spend hours scanning the services like the FootballDieHards.com, making trade proposals and speculating as to how your players will perform in the coming week.

Others at the hearing included Harold Henderson, the NFLs executive vice president for labor relations; Upshaw; John York, owner of the 49ers; and Dick Cass, incoming president of the Ravens.

Owens has said he would like to play for Philadelphia and reportedly had settled on a $10 million signing bonus with the Eagles in expectation he would be traded there.

The Ravens have said they will renegotiate his contract, although they are under no obligation to do so if Burbank rules in their favor.','3/15/2004 8:44:43 PM','8:44:43 PM','Monday'4193,2004,1037 6599,23,75,'Settlement Reached: Owens To Soar With Eagles','Nearly two weeks after believing they were out of the Terrell Owens sweepstakes, the Eagles got their man. The 49ers, Eagles and Ravens have reached a settlement that sends the Pro Bowl receiver to Philadelphia.

According to SportsLine.com insider Jay Glazer, who first advised readers of discussions regarding this matter last night, the agreement essentially calls for a brand new trade.

ESPN.com confirms Glazers report.

In the new deal, Owens will be traded from the 49ers to the Eagles for a Philadelphia defensive starter (who is not yet being mentioned because the player has not yet been informed). The Ravens will get a draft pick from the Eagles, likely a fifth-rounder, for their trouble in the matter.

The two sides were talking yesterday about a variety of settlements that included the Niners receiving a third-round pick from any team that signed Owens and the Ravens receiving their No.2 plus another draft choice.

The settlement is contingent
