According to Rocky Mountain News staff writer Lee Rasizer, Oakland will entertain Droughns on Tuesday. That free-agent visit will help Droughns determine whether Oakland is willing to give him a similar opportunity to carry the ball on a regular basis as an NFL tailback, something he craves.
Oakland has a void in its backfield with the departure of Charlie Garner to Tampa Bay. The Raiders are pursuing Cincinnatis Corey Dillon, reportedly offering a third-round pick to the Bengals in exchange for the mercurial back.
But for now, Tyrone Wheatley and Justin Fargas are the chief candidates to become the Raiders primary ballcarrier.

Smith said Monday.
Smith said of the trade: "The process went smooth and all sides are happy with the deal. Thats the essence of a good trade."
According to Associated Press sports writer Steven Wine, the deal is contingent on Boston passing a physical in Miami. The Dolphins tentatively plan to announce the trade Wednesday.
