How much time does all this take?

The answer to this question depends in large part on just how competitive your league is and how much you want to "master" the game. But, generally speaking, you'll at least want to skim the NFL news once or twice per week to see if any of your players are injured, about to lose their job, etc. You will also need to go in and select a starting lineup once each week some time prior to kickoff of the first NFL game.

In the simplest leagues you can spend as little as 5-10 minutes per week on your team, while in highly competitive leagues you can spend hours scanning the services like the FootballDieHards.com, making trade proposals and speculating as to how your players will perform in the coming week.

out his Paul Brown Stadium locker the day after the last game and has said he expects to be playing for a different team this coming season. He has two seasons remaining on his five-year contract with the Bengals.

"Im looking for a new home," Dillon said Dec. 28, while throwing his equipment in the stands after the seasons last game.

Dillon had a career-low 541 rushing yards in 2003, bringing his seven-year total to 8,061 -- 28th on the all-time NFL rushing list. He will be 30 on Oct. 24.

The Bengals apparently are ready to make fourth-year pro Rudi Johnson their featured back. A restricted free agent, Johnson received the highest tender offer from the Bengals last week, $1.824 million. If another team signed Johnson to an offer sheet and the Bengals declined to match it, the Bengals would receive first- and third-round draft picks as compensation.

Reached Tuesday, Johnsons agent, Peter Schaffer, told Curnutte the situation was "status quo."

Johnson is believed to be ready to sign the one-year tender if another offer doesnt come his way. April 16 is the deadline for restricted free agents to sign an offer sheet. ...

Also according to Curnutte, the Bengals confirmed the visit of an intriguing wide receiver, former sprinter Patrick Johnson.

Johnson, 5 feet 10, 196 pounds, most recently of the Washington Redskins, could provide another speed threat the Bengals want for strong-armed starting quarterback Carson Palmer.

Johnson, 27, who once beat Olympian Carl Lewis in the 100-meter sprint, is another potential Bengal with previous ties to coach Marvin Lewis. The Ravens used their second-round pick on Johnson in 1998, when Lewis was their defensive coordinator.

In six NFL seasons, the first four in Baltimore, Johnson has 82 receptions for 1,225 yards and 10 touchdowns. Regarded as a player looking for the right fit, Johnson also has experience on punt and kickoff returns and is believed to be available
