"Im not going to just drop back every time and look for him. In this offense he may not get 100 catches," said McNabb. "He wont get 147 catches, but hes going to have a great year and the rest of the guys are going to have great years."

McNabb isnt concerned about Owens personality, however. The two became friends while playing together in three Pro Bowls.
"A lot of people who have watched him over the years never really got a chance to get to know him," McNabb said. "People have seen one side, that is his attitude and his aggressiveness playing football.
"When you are playing on a team where you are the focal guy and you are going to get the ball 80-90 percent of the time, you are going to get upset when you are not winning and you know that you have a good team. ..."
Owens seems to agree.
"Regardless of what youve heard, Ive never been a selfish guy," the mercurial one said upon arrival in Philly. "I can catch two or three balls and block downfield to spring a guy and Ill feel like I scored a touchdown just like I caught one. It doesnt really matter. My thing is, I just want to win.

For what its worth. ... In an article published Monday, Trenton Times staffer Mark Eckel suggested that Owens arrival could change the offensive philosophy. Reid always has stressed spreading the ball around, but Eckel believes the McNabb-Owens connection could become the focus.
