How much time does all this take?

The answer to this question depends in large part on just how competitive your league is and how much you want to "master" the game. But, generally speaking, you'll at least want to skim the NFL news once or twice per week to see if any of your players are injured, about to lose their job, etc. You will also need to go in and select a starting lineup once each week some time prior to kickoff of the first NFL game.

In the simplest leagues you can spend as little as 5-10 minutes per week on your team, while in highly competitive leagues you can spend hours scanning the services like the FootballDieHards.com, making trade proposals and speculating as to how your players will perform in the coming week.

"I dont think hes there yet, but Bryant Johnson has track speed and he can be the deep threat that an offense has to have," Green said.

Also according to Somers, Green has admitted his decision to move Boldin to split end is a bit of a gamble because the youngster caught 101 passes last year as a flanker. The idea is that Boldin often will line up on the weak side, and teams wont be able to double team him as much.

"Less double teams for me is always better," Boldin said. "Im cool with it. Its not like Im going to a totally different position. Its still receiver. ..."

In Tampa. ... Following up on an item first reported last week, ESPN.com senior writer Len Pasquarelli reminded readers last Friday now that he has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in the domestic abuse case that he was facing in Arizona, Michael Pittman almost certainly will be suspended by the league for part of the upcoming season.

By pleading guilty, Pittman is in violation of the NFLs personal conduct policy and subject to sanctions. ...

In Cleveland. ... Also according to Pasquarelli, Tim Couch is barred from the Browns weight room out of the fear an injury might diminish his already lagging trade value, but team executives may still be interested in bringing the veteran quarterback to training camp on a one-year deal.

Couch has been dangled in trade talks, and Green Bay head
